Fallout 4’s artillery is truly something to behold. Watching as bombs fall from the sky, obliterating anything in their range really solidifies your dominance of the wasteland. We already showed you how to unlock, build, and use artillery. However, to use it often you need to have plenty of. I did some testing also.the range of the artillery is about 550 meters. This come out to be about 5.5 grid squares on the map. To help visualize it better here is a handy image I put together of where my testing landed its last shells before they could not fire on my smoke. I really don't understand the flare hun and arty smoke. They both seem to be worthless.

Also fun fact, i would use this especially when fighting Swan at the Boston Commons. Hope this helps and good luck out there! I think I fixed it. It worked for me at least.

Go to castle and check if your radio operation center still has power if not fix it. After that if you want arty support tune into radio freedom and throw your arty smoke. It'll take awhile to respond but eventually theyll respond on the radio saying either 'Rodger that general, we see your smoke sending artillery your way' or ' sorry general we can't give artillery right now' or 'sorry general we don't have any available artillery in the area'. Please correct me if I'm wrong in anyway on this.This is only if you choose to join and command the minutemen faction. So much wasted potential, this could have been amazing. Both have max ranges. If you are not in the range they wont work.and yes I have had both work for me, of course i am on Xbox so may be a PC issue. I have 27 Settlements all with Artillery, and I have noticed it seems to be getting worse, it used to be when I called it, I would get up to 10 or 15 Strikes, now I am lucky if I get one or 2, and the last place I tried it there where 3 or 4 settlements close by but only got one strike, and sometimes it takes up to a Minute for them to come. Also sometimes you get a sound like they just stopped in mid air with out any explosion.I also have 3 Nuke attacks from the Sub, but cant find anything worth using them on.Never tried the Flares LOL.
